Our Shine a Light on Suicide Night Kayak is easily our biggest community event of the year.
We are lucky to have our own County Lake and Park which gives us this wonderful opportunity. Two Mile Run County Park is a nearly 2,695 acre park with a 144 acre lake. The park hosts nearly 38 miles of trails that make it a year-round place to have fun and enjoy the great outdoors. The Park offers many activities:
- Boating
- Camping
- Hiking
- Hunting
- Fishing
- Mountain Biking
- And More
Participants may come and stay at the campsites or bring your camper for the weekend. You can enjoy all the Park has to offer and then join us at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2026, for the Night Kayak event at the Beach.
Participants bring out their own kayaks, unload them and then proceed to decorate them with lights and anything else they deem appropriate. We have two decorating contests where each winner receives a new kayak, life jacket and oars. The contests include "Most Creative" and "Best Suicide Prevention-themed.
Here are some other things we offer to those in attendance:
- Hot dog, chips, popcorn, water.
- Suicide Resource tables
- HOPE beads where colors indicate your relationship to a loved one lost to suicide
- Corn Hole
- Childen's Games and Activities
